If you have ever been to a Sri Lankan supermarket, you’d know that the shelves at the Personal care sections are filled with plastic packaging, many times in questionably small sizes. Small packaging are offered at a lower price point, but it’s far from sustainable. Plastic itself has many harmful effects on the environment, but did you know that the global disposal of cosmetics packaging account for up to 70% of the whole industry’s carbon emissions too (Zero Waste Week data 2020)? We wanted better options.

Trying to find good natural products on the market was a difficult task. Especially when it came to shampoos and conditioners, most options were basically normal soap sold as “shampoo”, or oil based bars as “conditioners”. They just didn’t leave the hair feeling fabulous.

Hence when the pandemic had pretty much put our other businesses on hold, it was the perfect time to look into new opportunities. We wanted to create something of premium quality that wouldn’t be second to none of those brands in a plastic bottle. After a lot of research, studies, trial and error, Alana Natural Cosmetics was created.

All our products are made with naturally derived, luxurious ingredients, free from plastic packaging. To get the best results of our products, we also use innovative organic ingredients such as hydrolysed proteins, natural silicon substitutes and Provitamin B5.

We assure that our products are free from harmful substances such as parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances and silicones.
